I invite you to visit my family farm, north-east of Riding Mountain National Park, near the village of Ste Rose
du Lac. For three hours, become a blacksmith. You will learn;
How to build your own forge,
Heat treating theory,
Forging basics.
In the end you will forge your own project. Classes require two people and are limited to four. Blacksmithing
is inherently dangerous. For insurance reasons you will be asked to sign a waiver. Please wear protective
natural fiber clothing that covers arms and legs. (No synthetics please, they melt to the skin) safety glasses
and gloves will be provided.
Please visit www.authentic-iron.com/courses to register your interest in a class. Payment is required through
PayPal to secure a class spot. Our PayPal site is currently under construction, so cash or cheque payments
will currently be accepted.
Cancellations less than 1 week prior to course date are non-refundable. If the course does not proceed, the
course fee will be refunded.
After 16 years as an Artist Blacksmith, the roar of the forge still makes my pulse quicken. When the mind is in
the right state, and iron is the right heat.
There is a rhythm to the work. A rhythm understood when you experience it.
