Curved Stair Photo

The iron railing I built for this house took me 102 hours to complete.   All the scroll work was hand forged.   One obstacle was meeting the building code which demands no opening bigger than a 4 inch circle be found anywhere in the railing.  The man in the picture is the carpenter who built the stair case.   He is very precise.

Railing with Bushings

The photo on the right is a close up of the hand rail on the railing to the left.   The bushings on the railing are formed hot out of 1" pipe and polished on a lathe. Close up of railing

Square Railing

This is a screen I made for our basement.   My wife designed the pattern.

Railing with Bushings

Using some hot forged scroll elements and a hand forged rose a simple front step railing like this becomes a bit more elegant.
